About Historic Handwork:
We sell top quality Buxton Brooks Weavettes created by Licia Conforti. My name is Bryanna Rosenblatt and I created Historic Handwork. I am a life-long homeschooled graduate, in my freshman year of college. As part of my high school graduation requirements I had to start my own business and try to make a profit by the end of the school year. I had seen an article in Martha Stewart Living magazine about these lovely old-fashioned hand looms and I thought they would be a very popular item for homeschooling students. They seemed to be a very practical and portable handwork hobby that could easily be done by children as well as adults during reading time, quiet time or while driving in the car on the way to a field trip. The affordable little looms can make anything from tiny little dollhouse table cloths, blankets and curtains to doll clothes, face cloths, pot holders, small and large quilts, baby clothes and more.
I settled on this item and came up with a business plan to invest a budgeted amount of money in the looms, and a way to advertise and sell them. I started with 25 of each of the 5 sizes of looms available to me. I rented a vendor table space at 5 New England Homeschooling Conferences. The first was the biggest one in Massachusetts and I sold more than half my stock! As I suspected, the kids loved the looms! The boys and the girls all sat around my table as I showed them how to work the loom. They quickly caught on and were making little bookmarks to take away with them as a souvenir from my table. By the end of the conference we had all loomed a small quilt! By the end of the conference season I had sold all my looms, my business turned a tidy profit and I couldn’t wait to buy more.
Today I still sell looms, through this website and at homeschooling conferences, as a way to supplement the expense of my college education. Thank you for your interest in the looms. I hope you will make a purchase for yourself, or a lucky child who will surely love such a unique gift. I do guarantee 100% satisfaction with every sale. If you are not happy with the beautiful quality of each hand loom please return it, in the original packaging, and I will refund 100% of your cost for the product.
